Green Cove Springs is a small town in Florida where you will find some hidden treasures for antique shopping. This little town currently opens and closes with the sun, but is well worth the visit.
We are fortunate enough to be able to pop into the little shops along Walnut St and Orange Ave whenever we are out for a quick lunch. I recently took advantage of these antique shops and found some unique treasures.
First to catch my eye was this fun twist on a rocking horse design at Something Special.
Turning around, I found this gorgeous antique turquoise glass calling my name.
Further in, this light fixture practically asked to get in my car for the drive home.
Meandering through the rest of the store I passed new items from clothing to wallets, detoured around large and unusual pop culture pieces like a life size Marilyn Monroe, and noticed several collections from books to dishes.
Please don’t miss those gorgeous distressed corbels in the background…I wanted to justify getting them for my kitchen island.
Instead, I put myself on a 24 hour holding pattern and found myself going back the next day to collect that glass. These vintage glass insulators were mass produced mid-century and are beautiful to me. I hope to create a light fixture for our newly constructed dream home with them. Can you imagine it?
There was even more goodness at Two Chicks Eclectic Mix nearby, but I will save those pictures for another day. Next time you wake up on a Saturday looking for something a little different to do, come by our little town and see what treasures are waiting to come home with you!
